CIBSE Low Carbon Consultants and Energy Assessors 
Viridian Consulting Engineers Ltd employs specialist engineers who have successfully demonstrated the necessary expertise to become accredited as a CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant and Energy Assessor. 

Members of the Low Carbon Consultants Register are a body of professionals competent to minimize energy use and carbon emissions from buildings both in design and operation. They are able to go beyond the current legal minima in improving the energy performance of both new and existing buildings. 

Clients can be sure that buildings designed and operated by Low Carbon Consultants will meet the requirements of Part L (Conservation of Fuel and Power) and Building Control Officers can be assured that compliance is being signed off by suitably qualified professionals. Members of the Register have undertaken examinations to demonstrate their competence. 

Many Low Carbon Consultants (LCCs) are choosing to further enhance their professional standing by becoming accredited Low Carbon Energy Assessors (LCEAs) in order to provide the Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) and Display Energy Certificates (DECs), which have been introduced under the Energy Performance in Buildings Regulations (EPB Regulations) since 6 April 2008. These certificates can only be provided by accredited energy assessors who are members of an approved scheme such as the Low Carbon Energy Assessors Register. 

Building Energy Models
Viridian engineers are qualified to utilise accredited simplified Building Energy Model software, in order to demonstrate compliance with building regulations in terms of carbon emissions as well as any planning permission requirements. Our engineers use the software to explore the effect of providing various building thermal properties, air tightness and Building Services Installations in order to achieve the optimum overall solution in terms of cost and carbon emissions.
