Manchester

This 13 storey development consists of 119 apartments for the PRS market, two retail/commercial units on the ground floor and a roof-top garden for residents. A new urban square will be formed between the development and adjacent grade II listed Wentwood Building on Newton Street.

Services included whole house ventilation with heat recovery, electric panel heating and LED lighting throughout. This ensured that the minimum requirements of Part L1A of the Building Regulations were exceeded, whilst still meeting Manchester Planning Departments required improvement, by provision of high levels of insulation and low levels of air leakage.

North Central (formerly Angel Court)
Manchester

Located in Manchester City centre, this bold 12 storey residential scheme sits adjacent to the NOMA developments and the prestigious No.1 Angel Square. The development comprises a mixture of one and two bedroom luxury apartments with a commercial usage on the ground floor.

Residential sprinklers are proposed as a fire engineered solution to facilitate an open plan apartment layout.

Vimto Gardens
Salford

Viridian was employed by Galliford Try to undertake the detailed design of the Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health installations and to undertake the Code for Sustainable Homes assessment for this development, which involved the construction of 83 apartments and 14 townhouses on Chapel Street, Salford.

Cardinal Court
Oldham

Viridian was employed by G-Suite Holdings to provide Mechanical, Electrical and Fire Engineering consultancy advice on this development, which consisted of a steel shell that had been badly whether damaged over time, into 142 No self-contained “micro” apartments.

Smithfield Square
Manchester

One Smithfield Square is a residential block of 77 units, with a mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartments. Viridian was employed by Muse Developments to amend the previously tendered design to enable electric panel heating to be utilised, in lieu of individual gas boilers.

Burley House
Stockport

Viridian Consulting Engineers Ltd were appointed to undertake designs of the Mechanical and Electrical services installations for this 1960s office conversion into 25No 1 bedroom apartments.

Electric Panel heaters were provided to all habitable rooms and extract ventilation was provided to bathrooms and kitchens. A smoke ventilation system was also provided following negotiations with the local Fire Officer.

Butley Hall
Prestbury

Viridian Consulting Engineers Ltd provided Mechanical and Electrical services consultancy advice for this Grade II listed building in Prestbury for Edengate Homes. The project consisted of the conversion to 6 luxury apartments and 3 separate new-build Georgian style town houses.

Belem Tower
Liverpool

This building was constructed in 1958 and as such is the earliest tower block of its type in Liverpool. It incorporates 63 no. apartments, accessed by open galleries from two lifts.

Refurbishment works were undertaken and Viridian were responsbile for the design of the Mechanical and Electrical services installations.

Bollin House
Manchester

This development, designed by Reid Architects incorporates 14No apartments has recently been completed. Viridian provided MEP services consultancy advice and undertook Code for Sustainable Homes assessments.

St Georges Court
Lytham St Annes

This mixed use scheme comprises a 14,155 ft² Aldi food store and 34 one and two bedroom apartments, spread across three floors, with basement car parking.

Individual gas fired condensing boilers have been provided to each unit. As the front building façade is listed, the boiler flues and ventilation ducts had to be carefully co-ordinated to run to atmosphere.
